Terje Haakonsen First Descent Of 7601 Is Simply Awesome

21 October 2007 3 Comments

Terje Haakonsen, Norwegian professional snowboarder, is famous for being one of the most influential riders of all time. Terje Haakonsen became an icon of the sport by being the best in snowboarding competitions in the 1990s. Mr. Haakonsen is also known from starring the documentary “First Descent” from which the clip below is taken from.

Check out this video. It is absolutely amazing. Scary. I have been skiing some challenging mountain faces but this one is truly impressive. See around 50 seconds how aerial that peak is. See the blue sky and the white snow. Isn’t that beautiful and scary at the same time? And how about around 55 seconds? Is that steep enough? Gnarly enough?

See Terje Haakonsen dropping in around 1:12 seconds. See how fast he rides! That is absolutely beautiful snowboarding. See the powder fields around 2:30 seconds. Fantastic! I would love to step in my Volkl Gotama skis and ride that face but I guess I would be dead scared just before landing on the peak.

Man, I feel good watching this at home, surrounded by kids, and with my first morning coffee in my hand. Life is beautiful. Life rocks!

Heh.. Terje looks soooo cool in the interview :)
