Ski Season 07/08 Opening Expo In Finland

homeboyhin-0301.JPG

Last weekend Skiexpo exhibition traditionally opened the ski season here in Finland. I packed my kids to my old and rusty station wagon and headed to Helsinki exhibition hall. We met another Hometown Boy Janne in front doors and had a quick chat. I borrowed Janne’s camera to shoot few pictures for ya.

The exhibition hall was literally full of people. I bet every single skier and snowboarder of this country were there at the same time. We started walking around the hall to see all the new skis and boards of next year. The first interesting exposure was K2 skis. Those K2 Hellbent skis are absolutely one of the best powder guns this year. Anyhow, because I a was interested to find skis for my four years old son, we continued walking.

Pretty soon my son discovered Leki ski sticks which were made for downhill skiing. Unfortunately they were all for grown-ups. No little ski sticks for my son. “Don’t worry mate! We’ll find you sticks!“. I continued walking with my young punks. Next we found Rossignol skis. We have a daughter who is almost two years old. It was soooo close that I bought those beautiful skis (in the middle) for her, but then I realized that she is too young for skiing and these skis are way too big for her.

Nice skis for little ladies..

Next we found some helmets and my son wanted to try one of them on. I stopped for a quick chat with the sales man. I probably spent like five seconds without watching behind my son. During that five seconds he had taken one ski and was trying to step on it on the floor with a helmet on his head. Then again we continued walking and came across with more K2 skis. Hey, wait! Those skis are just too big for many years..

Hey, don't break those skis, dude!

Finally we went to eat each a quick lunch. It was a good day and we discovered some new ski 07/08 models. My kids were hungry but they seemed to be happy with what they saw during the day. Now the next move is to go skiing. We are still waiting for the first snow that won’t disappear in few hours..

K2 booth had even a pirate gun.

Big guns..
