I started skiing as s little kid, some 27 years ago. Since those days I have been skiing quite a bit. I thought I knew pretty well what kind of skiing there is in France, Switzerland, Italy and Austria. May be yes, but there is one thing I never had a clue and it is pretty close to my home country, which is heli-skiing in Sweden.
A week ago I went to see the new powder guns of K2 in Ski-Expo in Finland. While rambling around the exhibition hall, I came across with Swedish Mattias Cöster. In fact, my four-year old son saw a red helicopter in a wide screen TV and wanted stopped to watch. My son was very interested in it, and yeah, me too. It is a pleasure to watch good heli-skiing in TV. I remember thinking, that must be from Lyngen in Norway..
Soon I found myself chatting with the owner of the widescreen TV, Mattias Cöster, a Swedish backcountry skier and heli-skiing expert. I asked Mattias, where was this film recorded, and he replied “in Sweden“. I thought “come on.. you’ve got to be kidding. There are no mountains like that in Sweden“. Well, Mattias was not kidding. The heli-skiing film was recorded in Sweden. Just guess what was the best thing in it? It was filmed at 3 am in late June! Man, these dudes go heli-skiing at 3 am in Sweden and I never knew that!
I am getting more and more interested in heli-skiing in Sweden..
At this moment my kids wanted to continue walking in the exhibition hall, but I was keen on talking more about heli-skiing in Sweden. Mattias told me many things about it and I got more and more interested. I was really impressed with all this and I immediately decided to share this with you. We reported about heli-skiing in Finland some time ago, so this topic really got my interest. If you ever go to Sweden, take your skis with you and call Mattias. Let me tell you why.

Arctic Elements provides heli-skiing trips in Sweden, just above the Arctic Circle. Heli-skiing in Sweden is an ultimate freeride experience in arctic mountains with half the size of Austria. Mattias provides a heli-skiing package with 30 000 vertical meters of freeskiing, 10 hours of airborne time, guided service and all mandatory safety elements as well as quality accommodation and meals included. It is a full package of very exotic freeskiing above the Arctic Circle.

What is your plan for the next summer? How about heli-skiing at midnight above the Arctic Circle? Under the sun of course, the sun does not set in northern countries at mid-summer. This could an adventure you won’t forget! I really got interested about this. I already told my 13 years old son that your next summer vacation is already planned. I know what we will do next summer. No, we won’t go to Spain or any other beach resorts. We go skiing some summer powder in Swedish Lappland at midnight!
