Cool Skiing Video Found by Ben Carr

Ben Carr from Kaos Brands sent me email a while ago and gave some really good positive feedback of Homeboy’s World of Skiing. Thanks Ben, I really appreciate you took the time and sent me your feedback! Ben enjoyed the skibum articles I wrote a while ago, namely Life of a Skibum and Being a Skibum.

Receiving positive feedback motivates with writing and helps to keep up our daily posting frequency. Sometimes it is damn hard to write daily because we have other duties as well. We have our day jobs, family and kids, sports, etc. On top of all that we write to few blogs such as this one. Another blog I am running is related to astronomy. For those who are interested in skywatching I recommend checking out my most popular article Finding the Andromeda Galaxy. If you are new to astronomy and interested to start, read my article Basics for Beginners – Telescopes I.

Astronomy is one of my few interests, as well as skiing and mountain biking. Astronomy gives something different from sports, something to think and wonder. Sports such as skiing and biking give me the feeling of freedom and speed. Heh.. speed is needed. I ski fast and I ride fast, and sometimes I break myself :) . Speed is fantastic. I love it! Just like astronomy gives something to wonder, music gives me feelings that I get from nowhere else. I am into classical, folk and metal music, and I sing and play the flute. I play with my kids at home almost daily. You can just image what a noise there is when our 13 years old son plays the electric guitar, 4 yours old son overblows the flute, our 2 years old daughter hits the drum.. What a nightmare, in fact. Anyhow, I love it. Music is the thing in our family, just like skiing. Those are our ways to get together. I recommend.

Back to skiing. Ben found a pretty wild video from Youtube and sent me a link. Check it out below. It is filmed in Tatra Mountains in Slovakia. It is definitely something you have not seen before, I bet!

Crazy stuff! (and a bit of editing/other “tricks” put into the summer scene…???huh?)

Marko, also please do a link to my Tatra/Slovakia articles.

The place where that was filmed is Tatranska Lomnica in High Tatras. (e.g. http://www.vysoketatry.com/obce/tlomnica/en.html)

Usually they don’t let skiers at all into the highest top (Lomnicky Stit) but e.g. in TGR’s “Prophecy” Micah Black skis down a couloir from that same mountain top…

Pretty sick video

Oh yes, Jack. It’s really sick. The best part is the big jump in the end of the video. This clip is filmed in Slovakia in High Tatra mountains. It’s a great place to ski.
