Christmas Presents for Skiers - Top 9 Christmas Presents for a Skier

As we all know, Christmas is coming again, and it is time to find presents for our kids, parents, friends, mates, etc. We gathered our top ten Christmas present ideas and decided to recommend them for our readers. This is a list of presents we would purchase as well, so we do not recommend anything we personally would not like.

What are you going to give as a Christmas present for your friends and beloved? Have you already purchased all the presents? I went shopping with my wife and all we got so far is just one baby doll for our daughter. All the rest, 99 presents are still not found..

If you are a skier, snowboarder or a telemark skier, or your friend(s) belong to that group, you probably would like to give presents related to the sport, right? Last year I gave my son brand new Volkl skis for alpine slalom skiing and I saw that it was his best present last year. This year he will get something different, in fact a Jackson RR guitar, but my younger son will get new skis. Anyhow, those are examples from my family. Let’s move on to the list of recommended Christmas presents for a skier. We co-operate with Amazon, so all the products we recommend are available in Amazon. If you get interested in those products, you can easily order them from our webshop by following the link. Remember to order soon to avoid late arrival. It is only a bit more than three weeks to Christmas. Products listed below are not in any order. We do not rate them. Instead we just list those products we would like to purchase to our beloveds and friends.

Christmas Present Idea for Skiers and Snowboarders #1 - Boot and Glove Dryer

This is a great product helping you to dry your boots and gloves while you sleep. With this dryer you will have dry boots and gloves in the morning and you do not need to wear those wet boots anymore. There are various ways to dry your boots and gloves, but this tool really gives an easy and nice way to keep your equipment dry. This is a perfect Christmas present for a skiing daddy or a teenager. Oh, and why not for a wife or fiancee as well?

Christmas Present Idea for Skiers and Snowboarders #2 - North Face Goggles Cool as Vanilla Ice!

Ice, ice baby! Ok, I am not sure about Vanilla Ice, but these North Face goggles are just so cool. I really like these ones and I consider ordering them for myself. The price is now much less than usually, so it is a good time to buy good goggles. North Face provides high quality clothing, and now high quality goggles as well. Again, this is a perfect Christmas present for your husband or a cool teenager!

Christmas Present Idea for Skiers and Snowboarders #3 - Children’s Ski Leash

Are you planning to teach your child skiing? Have you considered safety issues yet? This ski leash from RC Sport is a great help to make sure your child will be in good hands. It can be really difficult to teach a child who has never been on skis before. A ski leash makes sure your child will not hurt him/herself due to lost control. This is a Christmas present I, as a father of three kids, truly recommend purchasing. It is a great help.

Christmas Present Idea for Skiers and Snowboarders #4 - Best Ski DVD’s

Because this is not a ski DVD review, I will just say that these ski DVD’s are pure diamonds! If your friend is interested in ski DVD’s, consider giving one of these as a Christmas present. We are skiers from heart and soul and we have seen dozens of ski DVD’s. We know pretty well what a great ski DVD really is, and these ones rock! Check out the very best ski DVD’s in our webshop and provide your friend a tiny present full of hardcore skiing! Remember to check out our reviews of Lost and Found DVD, IDEA ski DVD and The Tangerine Dream DVD.

Christmas Present Idea for Skiers and Snowboarders #5 - a Helmet

Helmets came to skiing somewhere between 1998 and 2000. I remember realizing in Chamonix in 1999 that there are lots of people wearing helmets, while in 1997 there were only a few. It is a great that helmets came to skiing. It is so easy to hurt your head, especially when skiing new school tricks or jumping from quarter pipes, boxes and pipes. Check out the helmets we have picked up from the market. Surprise your kid by giving a bit different helmet as a Christmas present. We recommend especially these two:

Giro Bad Lieutenant

Giro G10 MX Snow

Now, if you want to really surprise, consider giving Giro Fuse Audio Helmet.

Christmas Present Idea for Skiers and Snowboarders #6 - Bode Miller Skiing Game

Kids play computer games very much nowadays. Ok, you’re right. Not only kids play, also many parents spend time playing computer games. I am into car races, such as good old Colin McRay Rally, but when it comes to skiing I prefer Bode Miller Alpine Skiing game for PC and PlayStation. This is a very well made game with good graphics, fabulous animations and 3D landscapes, as well as lifelike commentators. <sarcasm> Do not go skiing on Christmas time. Instead stay inside and play games with kids. </sarcasm>

Christmas Present Idea for Skiers and Snowboarders #7 - Magazine Subscription

I posted recently a review of skiing magazines. A magazine subscription is always a good Christmas present because it can bring joy for the whole year (assuming you subscribe for one year). I recommend subscribing to Powder Magazine. It is a fantastic magazine of powder and freeskiing with absolutely stunning photographs and road-trip stories. Prices are now pretty low, so it is a good time to subscribe. Check out also the other magazines from my review. They are all available in our online shop under category “Magazines”.

Christmas Present Idea for Skiers and Snowboarders #8 - Suunto Wrist-Top Computer

Now, let’s talk about really great Christmas present ideas. As I was a student and heading to Chamonix somewhere in the early 2000, I got a Christmas present from my wife. It was a Suunto Wrist-Top computer. Man, I was amazed. It was an expensive present taking into account our student budgets. I appreciated that my wife wanted to give me a really valuable and useful present. I recommend this same for you. Check out those wrist-tip computers and heart rate monitors in our shop. Personally I recommend these two computers.

Christmas Present Idea for Skiers and Snowboarders #9 - Chocolate, it Works Always

Chocolate, it works always. No matter for who you give it, it is always a good Christmas present. The question is what kind of chocolate you could give for a skier or a snowboarder? Well, naturally you give Swiss Toblerone chocolate because there is the nice figure of Matterhorn in the cover paper.

Toblerone chocolate and other tasty stuff

These are our recommendations for Christmas presents this year. I wish you good Christmas waiting and lots of patience in shopping. If you want to do it easier, consider purchasing at least some of the presents online. You might avoid lining in a traffic jam and crowded shops.

  1. These are some great ideas. I love the Bode Miller ski game idea, there’s also Ski Resort Tycoon where you can build your own ski area. And of course who can say no to chocolate.

  2. Hi Alena, thanks for you comment. I do like those ideas personally, especially those helmets and Suunto watches. I would like to purchase one of those “rad” helmets for my son.

Chocolate works always, especially with women :)
