Jon Olsson, the pretty boy of Sweden, has joined the blogosphere. Jon, the well-known new-school skier who is always surrounded by foxy ladies, has started videoblogging. Olsson posts videos to his blog almost in daily basis. I have to say that Jon’s videos are damn good! Just watch for example Mocano Cribs and you know what I mean.

Tell me who Jon Olsson is. Although he is a freeskiing star, I bet most of the daily readers have never heard of Jon Olsson, so let’s find out who he is. Long, long time ago when new school skiing was just starting to emerge; one shiny boy from Sweden came with great talent and skills. The boy was Jon Olsson, a young radical skier who was going to (get all the ladies and) become one of the best known freeskiers in the world. Nowadays Jon Olsson IS one of the brightest stars in the freeskiing sky, and is very well known and respected by the freeskiing scene.

Dude lives in Monaco

Jon Olsson was born in Sweden. He grew up and started skiing in Sweden, but now lives in Monaco. Olsson has won ten Winter X-Games and now runs his own competition, Jon Olsson Invitational in Åre in Sweden. Olsson has been victorious in other competitions as well, such as The US Freeskiing Open in Vail in US, The Red Bull Big Air in Åre in Sweden, Scandinavian Big Mountain Championships in Riksgränsen in Sweden and the World Superpipe Championships in Whistler BC. Jon Olsson is a very talented skier who is able to make very difficult tricks, such as D-spin into a flatspin (DJ Flip), a switch double rodeo (Hexo Flip), as well as a double flatspin 900 (kangaroo flip).

Now Olsson is making a comeback. He aims in joining 2014 winter Olympics. Jon is sponsored by Head, Tyrolia, Cross, Oakley, Red Bull and Swix, and he has his on pro model ski made by Head.

So Jon Olsson is a skiing star and very well known in the skiing industry. If you haven’t heard of Jon Olsson before, now it is your time to get to know him. Start by checking Jon Olsson’s video blog in his homepage. There are lots of great videos and nice comments from visitors. As an example, see Jon Olsson skiing in Breckenridge. Or how would be surfing in Bali with Jon Olsson? Great stuff. Gotta love it!

[EDIT 2011: Sorry, all the links have been removed. Jon probably quit blogging, so all the links were broken]

  1. Jon and his boy Simon Dumont are hosting a sweet new open event at Breck in Feb. Check it out at http://www.OpensFreeski.com

  2. Hey, thanks for informing us, sleepy! The new event looks cool. It’s a pity I live in Europe and most probably won’t be able to see it.
