We’re still skiing!
Some of you readers might wonder if we ever even go skiing these times, with all the reviews and articles about general skiing related stuff. Quality trip reports instead are quite rare…well, gotta admit we’re office rats that used to ski alot but these day merely talks about it!
Still, I’ve logged 18 skiing days this season and I still have at least around ten days coming. The goal have been thirty days for around three years now, and usually I’ve managed to do around 25~27. This year if I will have over thirty skiing days, I’m pretty happy - managing that with two little kids and a new job is sometimes quite tricky! Marko have been even busier than me, skiing even less (but managing two other blogs also with all the usual family/job hassle…gotta respect that!)
I have a trip to Finnish Lapland still ahead and the local park is still in good condition. However, the latest days have been showing temperatures of around +7C. The climate change seems to be here for real? (”Dani” sent me a link, commenting my article, of a cool community site they’ve building…check it out, it’s all about actions against global warming. The site is still a alpha version but evolving all the time: http://www.99actions.org/) Weelend forecast shows some wet snow and grey weather though. I think we can still manage to milk a few good park sessions here in southern Finland too. Spring is then for Lapland (and I hope we manage to do some serious 08/09 gear testing while there too! Last spring I was lucky to test a bunch of nice Völkl skis in Pyhätunturi)
And to testify my words: an example of a 35-year office rat in our local park jump the other day. Btw. I don’t write the blog to prove anything. just to provide good, useful information and entertaining stories. This is just to show you we get onto the slopes sometimes too…:)
