Blast from the Past – Snow is Only Frozen Water!

We have thought a few times that how would have it been if we started writing this blog say 1995 or 1996? I dare to say that we would have totally ruled. At least we would have been totally ahead of our times back then. Not that many dirt bag skiers even had a lap top back in the day. Remember, we are old farts that had their “glory days” already way in the past…

But that is just speculation. If we had made it that way we had probably lost “the right touch” of doing things at the same time. And missed that feeling of freedom you have when you are just “ski bumming” with your good friends. And probably a few good parties / drunken debauchery too…

Anyway, I am a firm believer in all things “long tail” regarding the Internet, and this is our humble try to open up our archives a bit. These pics posted today are just cheap paper film scans though. Nice pics but low quality.

My buddy Marko has a lot better quality pics on slides too – he even sold a some of them to ski magazines and image banks. Now I am pushing him to scan those as soon as possbile as there is a lot of good stuff, so stay tuned for some more “Blast from the Past” stuff in the near future! At least you get to see the 1990′s in all their glory.

This time’s theme: Say what you say about snowboarding but you just can’t beat surfing the earth and that legendary O’Neil Slogan from the 80′s/90′s “Snow is Only Frozen Water” Pretty hard to get the similar feeling on skis, no matter what new gimmick planks you have on your feet.

The Wave!

That IS some fine snow!

Was there more snow back in the 1990′s?

Laid back pow turns are what snowboarding is all about
