This is a guest post by Mike of Proleva. He is an avid skier who also enjoys reading Homeboy’s Ski Blog. Mike knows that a flu can be annoying during the ski season, and in this blog post he shares his knowledge of preventing a flu with Proleva’s antioxidant supplements.

  • Proleva??

Have you ever had that perfect ski weekend ruined by an unexpected flu bug?  I know I’ve spent a ski weekend or two bundled in front of a fire at the condo rather than where I’d rather be: cruising down the slopes with my family.  Bound and determined to not let this happen again, I’ve come up with a prevention plan that includes exercise, stress relief, fresh air and a little help from my new best friend… Proleva!

Prevent flu this season with Proleva

The thing about the glorious ski season is that it is accompanied by the less than glorious flu season.  Couple that with the stressful silly season that the Holidays offer and you have a recipe for illness.  I knew that I had to find a plan that would boost my immunity if I was going to enjoy my favorite winter activity.  That’s when I found Proleva.

Proleva is an all natural antioxidant supplement that contains the extracts of Acai, Noni, Gogi and Mangosteen.  Don’t bother looking for these fruits in the produce section.  You also may as well skip the watered down juice versions.  The only way to benefit from these super fruits and the super antioxidants that they contain is through a natural supplement like Proleva.

Proleva’s formula not only offers the best antioxidants known at this time, but also essential amino acids.  Most plants do not contain all of the essential amino acids, but the super fruits in Proleva contain a nearly perfect blend of essential amino acids.  In addition, Proleva contains omega 6 and omega 9 fatty acids which can lower bad cholesterol and raise good cholesterol.

So, in addition to taking my Proleva, I also began exercising more regularly.  As an avid skier, I’m fairly athletic on the weekends.  A recent Japanese study, however, concluded that extreme bouts of irregular exercise produce increased amounts of free radicals in the body which causes oxidative stress.  On the flipside, consistent moderate exercise performed 4 times or more per week produces less free radicals and boosts antioxidant activity which makes Proleva even more effective.

Boosting your immunity through using Proleva and exercise are great ways to avoid illness, but there’s another reason we get sick in the winter months.  We all tend to hover indoors with the windows shut which harbors germs.  It’s better to bundle up once a day and take a brisk walk or run then it is to stay indoors.  As well, when the sun is warm enough, I like to crack open some windows in my house and clear out a few germs.  Make sure you change your furnace filter regularly and use a high quality filter.  Proleva will help you fight off many of those germs, but it’s still important to adequately ventilate your home.

Enjoy skiing without suffering from flu

Finally, I realized that the mere stress of the Holiday season was part of the blame for my frequent illnesses during ski season.  Increasing my exercise routines and taking Proleva have certainly made it easier to tolerate stress, but I’ve also found a few techniques that enhance the effects of Proleva and exercise.

Breathing exercises are fantastic for those crucial moments when stress is overwhelming. I close my eyes and inhale deeply through my nose.  I allow the air to fill my belly and as I’m exhaling through my nose, I visualize my anxiety or irritation leave my body with the respiratory waste.

Proleva, exercise, quality air and stress reduction are the keys to enjoying a great ski season!
