Happy new year 2009 from Homeboy Ski blog! We wish you success and a snowy ski season 2009. Season 2008 was great in Europe, and we hope this season is going to be even better, also on other continents. Take your skis and boards, hit the road and get yourself to the playground. Enjoy skiing powder, trees or just cruising the slopes. Whatever you prefer, just go and enjoy. Live to ski, ski to live.

Year 2008 was interesting for us here in Homeboy Ski blog. We took this endeavour seriously and set our goals high. There have been up- and downhills, just like in the mountains. Anyhow, we have enjoyed every moment. It has been really interesting to share our thoughts by writing articles for you. We have learned a lot and we are super motivated to continue writing and developing our skills during 2009. I hope we can provide you good reading, and I hope you enjoy.

Although we have learned a lot and our traffic has increased rapidly, I must thank you our readers for providing comments, as well as positive and constructive feedback. Without this two-way communication it would be very hard to develop this blog. So thank you big time!

During 2009 we will continue writing especially interviews, gear reviews, book and DVD reviews, resort reviews and skiing reports from around the world. We have many absolutely great guys helping us writing the blog. For example Jarkko Henttonen is currently riding in Tamokdalen in Norway, Anniina is hanging in northern Finland, Ville is heading to Niseko in Japan, Juho is skiing in Innsbruck, and so on… Together with these cool people we can provide you reviews and reports from many interesting resorts and mountains all over the world. Our key partners, like Nendaz Freeride, help us to stay up to date with races and events.

Please notice that we will soon publish few very interesting interviews. We have discussed with guys like Fred Syversen and Eric Pehota who have pretty interesting stories to tell. Stay tuned! Lots of cool stuff is coming out soon!

Have a great year 2009! Rock on!

Season’s Beatings

I pull the igniter out of the zippered pocket of my parka and remove the metal clip with my thumb. Glancing at my partner, I see that she’s watching me, tucked behind the safety of a tree on the ridge. She just threw her ...

When it Doesn’t Snow

When it snows it reins. But when it doesn't, well, it's a bummer. We need more snow.

Surfing Fuerteventura, Canary Islands (Pictures + Beginner’s Perspective)

Despite the upcoming ski season I’d like to post a few surfing pictures from a recent surf (/family beach holiday) trip to Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. I think every skier/snowboarder should try surfing at least once in...

Ski accidents, injuries, health troubles, recovering – how to stay positive?

“Injuries are part of life. At least they’ve certainly been a part of mine. No one enjoys them, but if you avoided everything that might hurt you, you’d never get out of bed. What you need to do after an injur...
