The New Edge of Never Trailer

Last winter we reviewed The Edge of Never, a nonfiction book that follows the story of a young man, Kye Petersen, who travels to Chamonix, France, to ski the route that killed his famous, big-mountain skiing father, Trevor Petersen. (You can order the The Edge of Never book from Amazon).

The Edge of Never is a documentary feature film and inspired by this book of the same title written by William A. Kerig. It’s good to see that Kerig is also a co-producing, writing and directing the movie with Peter Schweitzer.

The Edge of Never begins where ski films leave off, or never dared to go. While these movies rely on action and loud music to provide a momentary rush that quickly melts away, The Edge of Never will try to combine those elements with mythic storytelling to produce a film experience that’s fun, but also meaningful and memorable.

So what does The Edge of Never trailer look like?

Awesome. Simply awesome. I love this stuff. I’m an old school skier and freerider, and Trevor Petersen and Eric Pehot a used to be my kind of role models back in my youth. Now I can see Trevor’s son progressing as a skier and following his father’s footsteps. In addition to that I can see good ol’ Glen Plake with his stunning hair skiing and talking, and a number of other great skiers and riders on the mythic faces of the mountains of Mont Blanc.

Great stuff! I can’t wait to see this film.
