Here’s a cool tip for the upcoming season. Make your own home made ski goggle cam with the instructions provided by Will O’Brien. With this funny combination of ski goggles and a digital camera one can make recording ski trips a lot easier. Although wind noise on the microphone can be quite staggering the idea sounds really nice.

So, Make contributor Will O’Brien figured out a way to mount a ATC3K camera into his skiing goggles. Here’s the whole story on how he did it.
In short Will purchased an Oregon Scientific ATC3K digital camera and wanted to mount it to his helmet. Unfortunately that idea didn’t work well, so Will decided to try something else. After disassembling and soldering Will was able to mount the camera into his ski goggles.

It’s not over yet. Wires and batteries must still be placed somewhere.

Ready to rock!

Wow. That’s really cool! They must use cameras like this to capture some of the videos show at Extreme Ski Club.
One would think it would restrict vision, is it just that tiny?
Cool, you should add a link to this google cam page you mentioned because Im interested and can’t find it. I bought a VIO POV1.5 this winter and have been both happy and dissapointed. In the end I think a custom solution is best if you can hook it up with a camera that is top notch. Would take some guts to rip apart a 3K camera to try something like this I suppose.
