Brian sent us a quick update on a cool contest that Sun Peaks has just launched. The contest is called “I want to be a Snow Bum” – and the winner will get three months of free lifts tickets, free hotel, free food, and free gear up at Sun Peaks. Not too bad, eh? You only have to explain in a 60 second video why you’re worthy of the prize and I don’t think “just because of” will be enough to win the contest!

Sun Peaks Snowbum contest

The Sun Peaks Snow Bum will receive, among other things a full all-inclusive resort accomodation, outerwear, ski equipment, backstage passes to resort events and return flights to Kamloops, BC. The winner will also receive a laptop and a cell phone that they’re expected to use to have daily communication on social media platforms and participate in media stories about the contest or other Sun Peaks content. The snow bum will get a weekly calendar from Snow Peaks with a list of activities including skiing with resort reps and participation in non-ski activities.

Sounds pretty cool. Actually Snow Peaks snowbum gets a lot better treatment than traditional ski bums :)

Sun Peaks ski resort

Sun Peaks Resort is a four season alpine resort located in the Interior of British Columbia, Canada. By vehicle it’s 4.5 hours from Vancouver, British Columbia and 5.5 hours from Seattle, Washington. You can also fly to Kamloops that is 45mins away from Sun Peaks.

Looks like resort has a got a nice mount of terrain (~1500 hectares) and in 2008 they got an award for 2nd Best Ski resort in Canada.

On the date of writing this article the Sun Peaks webcams only show some grassy ski fields but I’m sure that’ll change soon!

  1. Sun Peaks is awesome. I went there last year. Nothing beats that dry powder.
