I think that your review is spot on. The Krip is a great place to ski (on piste, off piste or touring), it just needs to be treated with a bit of respect. One guy died the day I was there so I would back you up on recommending local guides - this is serious terrain. The German guy who died had no idea about the area and went without a guide.
