My family and I have skiied in both Serre Chevalier and Les 2 Alpes....loved both of them but they give a very opposite feel to each other. Serre Chevalier is pretty, traditional and skiing is varied and challenging. The 4 villages all give a slightly different atmosphere...Briancon, the old town is beautiful and great for an afternoon out or for dinner in the quirky little restaurants up there. I preferred Villeneuve....dont like being on top of everyone so stayed in a hotel in Bez called the "Big Eagle" when translated from French to English....it was only a 5 minute walk to Aravet lifts but we skiied back to the hotel at the end of each day.

Les 2 Alpes had loads going on, much more built up and commercial but the town does have a pretty feel to it and very christmassy. The kids loved it and there was loads to do. Our hotel, Le Provencal was right in the centre of the town and very accommodating to our needs. Bity basic but thats all we needed really....much fun had by all
