Alpine World Cup race in Kitzbühel in Austria ended in dramatic way when Scott Macartney crashed just before the finish line. American Scott Macartney lost his control in the last big jump, fell on his right side and hit his head on ground. Macartney’s speed on that moment was 140 km/h.

Austrian Michael Walchhofer took the gold medal in men’s downhill in Beaver Creek. Walchhofer took his 12th World Cup victory with time 1.13,74. Norvegian Aksel Lund Svindal took the first position in men’s super-G alpine skiing race in Lake Louise in Canada. Svindal’s time in Sunday’s race was 1.29,19, while Austrian Benjamin Raich came 0,42 seconds behind. Third position was taken by Swiss Didier Cuche with time 1.29,79.
