Swedish skier and climber Fredrik Ericsson was killed on K2. A very sad day on K2 and those os us who knew Fredrik.
This is amazing. A skier was buried beneath an avalanche for 17 hours in the Swiss Alps before being pulled from the snow with only mild hypothermia.
I hope nobody was caught by this avalanche because surviving such an inferno is nearly impossible. Check out the awesome photos of the giant avalanche.
Damn! Russian Adventure of Freeride World Tour was postponed due to risky snow condition. Hopefully riders got a chance to enjoy very nice powder skiing. Check out also Glen Plake’s video reports straight from Russia!

Red Bull built Shaun White a huge private half pipe in the backwoods of Silverton, Colorado. Shaun had a number of new tricks in his head, and he needed a place to figure them out. Project X is going to introduce totally new tricks to the snowboarding world during season 2010.
So someone just digitalized a bunch of 80s and 90s freestyle skiing videos. There’s several hours of ski ballet, aerials, mogul skiing and whatnot all in funky 80s outfits complete with jetpants and so on, it can’t get any better!

Everything seems to be in place in Sölden, Austria. FIS Audi Alpine Ski World Cup is scheduled to start on Saturday 9:45 am local time. First is ladies’ giant slalom, and next day men’s giant slalom.
